Although Sudirman is not with us anymore to entertain all his fans, but he will never expire in our memory. To keep on the memory of Sudirman, some concerts were held in order to salute him as Malaysia’s popular entertainer. Besides that, in order to immortalize the memories of Sudirman, his figures was immortalized in “Muzium Tokoh Pahang” in Kuantan to commemorate the arts to the people and the nation. This place exhibits the valuables belongings such as Asia’s Best Performers Award trophy which is belongs to Sudirman.
On 1992, a biography book entitled ‘Detik Terakhir Sudirman” was written by En Ghafar Nin and Cik Munira Muhammad. The purpose of this book is to serve the special memories for the fans of Sudirman.
On May 23, 2002, Malaysia’s EMI, the National Archives and ‘ Istana Budaya’ has collaborates in the events of Narrative and Exhibition about Sudirman in Tunku Abdul Rahman Memorial Auditorium. The events was held for a month after 10 years of Sudirman’s death. The main objective of the events is to collect the information about the late Sudirman through the story from his family, friends and his belongings collection.
On the same year, Siti Nurhaliza, a popular Malaysian singer who is also a native daughter of Kuala Lipis, Pahang, was held a concert ‘Untukmu Sudir’ to commemorate the late Sudirman as the ‘People Artist. This concert was held at Istana Budaya. The host of the concert are Jaafar Onn, Habsah Hassan and Yusni Jaafar. In the concert, Siti Nurhaliza (now with the title of Dato’) was singing Sudirman’s popular song such as ‘Chow Kit Road’, ‘Big Spender in the Cabaret’, ‘Balik Kampung’ and ‘Salam Terakhir’.
At the concert also, some collection of video clip about Sudirman was played. Some of the video are the interview with the nearest person or relatives of Sudirman, friends, composer and others. To make the concert more successful, the late Sudirman’s nephew, Atai, was also singing some of Sudirman’s song. Besides wearing the clothes that synonim with the late Sudirman, at the end of the concert, Siti Nurhaliza and all the fans were overwhelmed after watching some video clip about Sudirman. This concert received positive comments from the peoples and was awarded as the Best Music Arrangement In A song through the song of ‘Merisik Khabar’.
Besides that, to contribute him as Asia’s No.1 Performer, Sudirman was awarded the title of ‘Dato’’. On June 18, 2009, he officially became Dato 'Sudirman bin Haji Arshad after his 17 years of death. His sister, Datin Rodziah binti Haji Arshad received the recognition on his behalf. The award was presented by the Sultan of Pahang (Sultan Ahmad Shah) at Istana Abu Bakar, Pekan, Pahang.
